Aftermarket ECU Tuning

Engdahl Motorsport has over 20 years of experience in tuning most aftermarket ECU systems. We specialize in VEMS and MaxxECU but also tune other engine management systems. Our goal is to assist our customers in every way we can. Therefore, we not only offer tuning in our dynojet bench but also regularly travel to customers for startups, troubleshooting, and limited street tuning.

Tuning/Performance Testing Prices for Street Cars 2026:

  • Full day dynojet - 15950kr
  • Half day dynojet - 9995kr
  • Hourly rate beyond that - 2595kr/h
  • Performance testing only dynojet - 4995kr
  • Performance testing with certificate for SFRO/Testa registration - 5595kr
  • Hourly rate for remote tuning - 895kr/h
  • For HP tuner tuning for Corvette, LSx etc., a license fee from 1500kr per car (one-time fee per car) applies

Important: Tuning of VVT/Vanos and sometimes ETC may incur additional costs if there are no ready-made presets. This also applies to the calibration/optimization of functions such as knock control, flexfuel, antilag, traction control, DCT/DSG, and other advanced functionalities. Normally, we do not have time to do this correctly in one day, so ongoing hourly rates apply. Contact us for more information and a quote.

Competition Cars: For competition cars, a dialogue about both price and scope is required. Unlimited support and calls, late nights, and weekends are not included in a tuning for 4000kr. Contact us for more information about VIP support and pricing.

Note: Unfortunately, we cannot run four-wheel drive cars at the moment. All prices include VAT. If your car has issues that prevent tuning from being completed within the booked time, a minimum of 4000kr will be charged for setup and bench rental.

Things to Consider Before Tuning!

  • Fuel System: The fuel system should be in good condition and leak-free. Use a new 10-micron filter after the last fuel pump. Aftermarket filters and metal filters are not recommended. Ensure the fuel pressure is stable and not "fluttering" at idle.
  • Injectors: If there is any doubt about the condition of the injectors, send them to us for cleaning and flow testing well in advance of tuning. All Bosch injectors over 900cc must be purchased in flow-matched sets.
  • Spark Plugs: Spark plugs should be new or lightly used. "R" plugs must be used. Spark plug wires should be new or lightly used. Ensure the spark plug boots fit tightly over the plugs.
  • Compression: Perform a compression test on all cylinders. Anything over 10% difference in compression is a problem that needs to be addressed.
  • Cooling System: Ensure the engine can maintain temperature at idle and that the cooling system is leak-free. Plastic or nylon joints or T-fittings in the cooling system are not allowed.
  • Tires: Ensure fresh and balanced tires are on the drive wheels. Unbalanced drive shafts that cause vibrations are dangerous and can lead to interrupted tuning.
  • Restrictions: Inform us how the car will be used, what the maximum boost pressure and RPM should be, and any other restrictions.
  • Cold Start: We cannot guarantee perfect cold start tuning unless the car stays with us for at least a week. Normally, we input parameters from previous experience that work in most cases.
  • Daily Use: For a car that is used daily and needs perfect tuning, more than a full day of tuning is required. Contact us for more information.
  • Changes After Tuning: After tuning, nothing should be changed that affects fuel or ignition, such as fuel pressure or trigger/trigger wheel. Save the map before making any changes.
  • Test Driving: When test driving your newly tuned car, keep in mind that it may behave differently with the higher power output.
  • After the Season: After the season ends, it is advisable to service the injectors to ensure they are in good condition for the next year. Store the injectors in a glass jar with fuel (covered with fuel) and a lid.
  • Temperatures: The maximum recommended water temperature is 100 degrees. The maximum recommended oil temperature is 100 degrees, but many engines can handle up to 120 degrees without issues.
  • Leakage: In case of significant leaks where liters of oil or coolant leave the engine, up to 1500kr will be charged for cleaning. Ensure all hoses are checked.

Additional Info for Daily Drivers:

For cars used daily that require 100% tuning, we need to have the car for a few days to test and adjust in real conditions. This applies, for example, to eliminating jerking, hesitation during acceleration, and optimizing fuel consumption. This is done only by special agreement and the car must be inspected, registered, and taxed.

  • Systems older than 15 years (Old DOS-based Haltech, MoTeC, or AEM)
  • ECU Master. All ECU Masters products are blacklisted as we are tired of the software being poor, buggy, and unsupported. Additionally, much functionality is missing to do a good job.

Most other piggyback systems are also not something we spend time on. If you have one of these systems, we strongly recommend upgrading to MaxxECU.
